Masons Lane Chambers
This group of barristers commissioned me to create an identity for their new chambers, which focuses on areas of law relating to human rights and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
It's a tradition to name a chamber after a location, so they chose Masons Lane, a pedestrian route between Lambton Quay and The Terrace in Wellington. A distinguishing feature of this location is the stairs that zig-zag their way between the streets, reflecting the zig-zag of the stairs themselves.
This motif was appropriate for the chambers as an ethical organisation, providing help, and lifting people up, step by step. The colour palette and dynamic pattern injects some youthful energy into an often-conservative industry, while making sure it still feels professional.
